i recently came across a really fine Gato album from the early 70s. I didn't know he was such a great jazz player earlier. I thought he was only smooth jazz crap. I'm hoping this album is the good stuff. :)

ok, i'm listening to the first track and it is blowing me away!!!! So incredibly good!!!! And no wonder. Written by the great Oliver Nelson. And being played by Gato and some other incredible musicians (Lonnie Liston Smith, Stnaley Clarke, Ron Carter, Airto, etc). I mean, are you serious? This is one hell of an album!

wow.
